UPGO LAUNCHING AT NEW YORK TECH MEETUP
New York, NY - October 12, 2010 - Manhattan-based UpGo is launching their Facebook application at the New York Tech Meetup. UpGo makes it visual, intuitive and quick way to gather your friends into useful groups you can use anywhere.
Using social data filtering algorithms and a unique visualizer, UpGo's apps give users an easy and intuitive way to sort their friends and contacts into relevant groups. By studying users' social graphs, UpGo plots clusters of appropriate friend groups on a radar. These groups can be modified and saved for later use. Additionally, UpGo gives users the option to choose default groups such as "Classmates" and "Local Friends."
Finally, users have the option to select events pulled from their own Facebook feed as well as those of friends they interact with most frequently. Along with the Facebook events, users in New York City and San Francisco can access curated events delivered from UpGo partner, Pulsd.
"As a homegrown New York company, we couldn't think of a better place to launch UpGo than at the New York Tech Meetup," said Adam Uhrynowski, Director of Marketing at UpGo. "We're excited to put UpGo in front of this community that's given us so much support and inspiration over these past few months and see what they think."
The launch of UpGo at the New York Tech Meetup marks the first release of UpGo's Facebook application, followed shortly by an iPhone app that gives users the ability to take their groups on the go and send invitations to events.
